By inserting thin metal needles into the skin, acupuncture works by harmonizing and regulating the flow of the body’s energy (Qi) and thereby helping the body heal itself.
As with traditional acupuncture, the needles are placed according to the treatment plan. The needles are then attached with small clips to a battery-powered device that generates the electrical pulses. The frequency and intensity is then adjusted accordingly. The patient experiences a pulsing sensation at the needle site.
Tui na is an oriental massage style that works to release blockages in the body’s Qi flow which cause pain and disease.
This technique employs the use of various sizes of glass cups to create suction on the surface of the body. By leaving the cups in place or gently sliding them across the body’s surface, the practitioner uses cupping to increase circulation, to promote natural movement of the tissues, to detoxify and to encourage the proper flow of energy through the body’s meridians.
Gua sha is similar to cupping in that it is used to promote circulation, release blockages in the body’s energy flow and bring toxins to the surface. Instead of glass cups, a special tool is gently dragged across the skin’s surface.
I believe that the diet can be a powerful tool in the healing process. I will give you personalized dietary advice that can help you finally reach your health goals.
